Like a Sand

Relationships - of all kinds - are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold onto some of it, but most will be spilled. A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relationship slips away and is lost.

Letting Go…

Letting go is like getting a tooth pulled by a dentist. Pull it out, you’re relieved. But how many times does your tongue run itself over the spot where the tooth once was? Probably a hundred times a day. Just because it wasn’t hurting it means you don’t notice it. It leaves a gap and sometimes you see yourself missing it terribly. It’s going to take a while, but it takes time. Should you have kept the tooth? NO, because it was causing so much pain.

Butterfly

Once there was a butterfly in my palm, but I let it flew. Not because I don't love it, but because I wanted it to enjoy with flowers and the bees. Keeping it in my palm won't make it the best butterfly it can be, so from a distance I'm happier watching it fly and play in the garden while the sun is still shining, because when the rain comes, I'll know... If it truly loves me, it will fly back to me...
